Welcome to ICES

The ICES is a Brussels-based think tank seeking to foster better mutual understanding between China and Europe by supporting academic research in a broad range of fields of potential cooperation including but not limited to business & trade, international law, ocean management and global governance.


 To achieve its objectives, the ICES will organize academic events and exhibitions, publish research papers and reports, as well as support academic exchanges, so as to promote the free flow of ideas and people between China and Europe.

    Our directors

    The ICES is supported by a full-time team in its Brussels office and also seeks to develop relationships with non-resident research fellows. Our research focuses on economic and trade relations, global governance, ocean management as well as other issues central to the China-EU relationship. We welcome scholars from diverse backgrounds to support our work, particularly with professional experience in China-Europe relations and expertise in international relations, business and trade, international law and maritime affairs.
