The European Union and China are rapidly bolstering their respective regulatory toolboxes to safeguard their economic security. In practice, this strategic shift manifests as a complex web of anti-dumping investigations, foreign subsidy probes, and industrial policy measures.

For observers, businesses, and policymakers, this environment generates a relentless stream of fragmented information. While there are regular reports on the launch of individual investigations or trade defence measures, a cohesive, systemic overview remains missing. Crucial data points, such as the volume of active cases, regulatory statuses, affected industries, and the primary legal texts, are scattered across disparate government registries. Differences between the EU and China regarding the languages, institutional frameworks, and ways of releasing relevant documents also add to the complexity of gaining a comprehensive and up-to-date understanding of the situation.

To bridge this information gap, the Institute for China-Europe Studies (ICES) maintains a curated, structured library of economic security policy measures, regulations, and proposals adopted by Brussels and Beijing. By transforming unstructured data into a scannable, categorised repository, our policy library enables researchers, policymakers, and business professionals to seamlessly track shifting regulatory boundaries and analyse the broader geopolitical implications of these interventions.

While our research team monitors these regulatory developments in real time, the library is systematically updated every quarter.
